I think I have adware/spyware

Hello everyone, a friend of mine suggested trying your site out to help solve a problem that I'm having.

About two days ago, I started noticing my computer acting strangely - it kept trying to download an '.htm' file and I noticed in Firefox that after a long time, a site would load itself. So far the sites have been 'shopyourbargain' and 'partypoker'.

I ran ad-aware and spybot s&d a few times, yet I am still having the same thing happen. I also tried vundofix (I think was the name of the application) based on another message board.

I am posting a HT log hoping that someone might see something that I don't, or perhaps offer a suggestion - otherwise, time to wipe & reinstall.

Looks like you may have an infection there. Let's see if we can knock it out. Also, you're gonna need to get a real-time AV from the two listed below. Once you get one of them installed and updated, go ahead and scan with it and get a log if one is produced.

1. Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.
   
   Note:In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
2. Save it to your desktop.
3. Please run HijackThis.
   • Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
   • Place a check mark beside the following item(s)

   • Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window.
4. Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
   • Select: "Delete on Reboot"
   • Then click on the "All Files" button.
   • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

   • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
   • Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.
     If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.
5. Download, install, update and scan with one of the following free Anti-Virus Programs.
   Choose only one Anti-Virus program.
   • AVG
   • AVAST
6. Please re-open HiJackThis and scan and save a new log file.
7. Post Logs
   • AV Scan Results
   • New Hijack This Log

Also let me know if the pop-ups have subsided.
