I got burned and dont know how

Ok I am a pretty novice computer user but... I'm finding my self standing all alone with just my finger lol.

Ok my computer is lagging like a mother ????... And everytime I change my them back to normal WindowsXP it changes back to everything except the taskbar. The taskbar looks like the taskbar in windows Vista 100%.

Here is my logg! And just clicking on start and then programs I have to wait because of lagg. I have New... Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 2.13ghz, 1gig of ram , RADON X800!!! It just dont make any sence. I hate feeling stupid and unable to fix this issue. Please anyone have any ideas?

To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Uncheck cookies

Before first use:
Select Options then Advanced.
UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.


Then Reboot (Exit)



1. Download this file - COMBOFIX
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.


Post a new hijackthis log also please.

I had McAfee Installed after a fresh install when I instlled new Intell core duo not that long ago.....

Thanks for the reply and the help but my girlfriends laptop broke and she needed a computer ASAP for college... so I formated and reinstalled Windows XP with Office for her.

Few questions though?

I am running a legit Copy Of XP not Bootleg.
I have all Drivers Installed & All XP Updates Installed.
I also reinstalled McAfee Virus Scan that came with new motherboard.

I would like your advice on a few things....
1: Whats the best software for Virus protection.
2: I'd like to have a Virus, root, malware, all in one. I think TrendMicro does this i'm not sure?
3: To save me time from reinstalling XP & All driver & Software I was going to do or setup a system restore point. But last time something messed it up and there were no restore points. So what would be a better means to do? I was thinking maby a complete copy of system on a spare hard drive.
4: To keep Roots & Trojans out, whats best software to use.

I'd like to keep my PC running in shape and have never had issues with a virus! Its always these dam Trojans or root kits.

Right now...
I have a fresh copy Installed With all updates...
And McAfee Installed thasts all and computer is running great with no errors
