Internet help urgently needed please

Can someone help me please, heres the story: a couple of days i went to bed as normal got up turned pc on and nearly died, loads of anti spy on my pc pop ups left right and centre for some reason my isp decided to cancel my nortons anti virus/firewall and all this happened.After nearlt 15 hrs on phone to them and them not being helpful trying to fix prob they caused i decided to reformat the pc. Ive loaded everything back in as normal and got everything running again. Only prob i have now is when im using internet explorer it keeps freezing on me or the screen goes white and i have to keep pressing ctrl/alt/delete to restart it.Ive run anti virus/antispy again and its fine.
Im running windows professional xp service pack 2 and my pc details areentium 4 cpu 2.80ghz 512 ram
