Re: Death to Hackers

Welcome, doesn't look good.

Please delete the version of HiJackThis.exe you have installed, then download the new version from here:

HIJACKTHIS

Make sure hijackthis is in it's own folder like this:

Program Files\hijackthis\hijackthis.exe

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and choose Install to extract it to its own folder on the Desktop. Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
  • In Safe Mode, right click the SDFix.zip folder and choose Extract All,
  • Open the extracted folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the script.
  • It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Finally open the SDFix folder on your desktop and copy and paste the contents of the results file Report.txt back onto the forum with a new HijackThis log

Re: Death to Hackers Part 2

Since backdoor trojans were found on your computer which steals personnel information such as passwords etc. you are advised to get to a clean computer and change all passwords and notify any companies you do financial trans actions with to keep an eye on your accounts in case information has been stolen.

1. Download this file - COMBOFIX
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Post a new hijackthis log also please.

Re: Death to Hackers Part 3

Is symantec out of date?

If so might consider a free anti-virus program that is not a resource hog like symantec is.

Your sun java is out of date.

Update Java: Security Issue

* Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
* Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )

It should have next icon next to it:
Select it and click Remove.
* The current version can be downloaded from Sun here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Scroll down the page to 'Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u3 and press the 'Download' button. On the new web page, click the 'Accept License Agreement' button. Then select 'Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language' in the Windows Platform area just below the Accept button.

Good luck.
