Computer is very slow

This computer is only about a year old. It's 2.5ghz and has 256ram. My 1mhz 8ram from 1995 is faster. It takes about a solid minute just to load any application, even something as simple as notepad.

I have ran all the spyware programs, defrag'd, etc etc. Any idea as to why it's sooo slow?

Welcome,

You don't have any microsoft updates on this computer, and I cannot hunt for the problem unless you get Service Pack 1A, do not get service pack 2 on a possibly infected computer.

If there is an infection and I clean it you will become infected again without the updates, almost immediately.

How long have you had Adware 2007?


You need an anti-virus program, I don't see one running.

Run a scan with AVG and come back and tell me how things are after that and any files that could not be deleted


To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner

Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.
It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Uncheck cookies

Before first use:
Select Options then Advanced.
UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"

Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner", just use the windows tab up front by default.


Then Reboot (Exit)


New hijackthis log after the above please.
