CiD popups(RESOLVED)

Hi There, I know you must get tired of hearing and saying the same thing over and over. Sorry, I have those annoying CiD popups and I have tried what you said to do after reading several different threads posted on your site. I still haven't gotten it right. Something is hiding. Can you please help me? Here is my Hijack This.

Welcome,

Disable programs that will interfere with the fix

Tea Timer

I notice that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is normally a wonderful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:

Run Spybot-S&D
Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts

You can reenable TeaTimer once your system is clean.

AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly ewido)

Launch AVG Anti-Spyware and in the main window click "Realtime protection" (in green indicating "Active") to change to inactive.

Please Download NoLop to your desktop from the links below...

NOLOP

If you are useing firefox you may have to right click NOLOP and select "open link in new window"

First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot.

Double click NoLop.exe to run it.

Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>

When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK.

Now click the "REBOOT" Button.

A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log along with a fresh HijackThis log.

--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program. --

I disabled Tea Timer and changed AVG to inactive, ran NoLop which found a few things but my husband came in and rebooted before I could get the log, (sorry) I ran it again and found no files infected. I had 4 programs running called "iexplore.exe" in my Task Manager that was really slowing down my computer so I closed all of them. What are they? They seem to be here on startup, Are they the problem? I didn't have any pop ups after I had closed them and now they are back. They also seem to be taking up a lot of my memory. Thanks for all your help. Here is the new Highjack This log.

P.S. I also ran RegistryBooster 2 yesterday and it said I had 499 problems with my registry and to fix them I have to buy the program, is this worth buying? Is it a good program? I kept a log of it if you want it also. Thanks,

No I don't need the reg log, and I would be cautious about useing those in the first place, a lot of times it is about the money for them and scareing you in the process.

Re-hide after we are done

Now reboot into safe mode( without networking support) by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Run hijackthis and click on "scan system only" button and put checks next to these:

C:\DOCUME~1\Monica\APPLIC~1\OPTION~1 > folder begins with OPTION It is in application data folder

Reboot your PC

Have you run a scan with AVG 7.5 anti-spyware lately? If not I would update it and run a scan and quarantine any malicious items it found. If you can get a copy of the log and post it back here could be helpful in determineing if you have any trojans on your machine and if further action is required.

Thank you for all the help. I did everything as you said and I now have NO CiD POP-UPS I did run the AVG scan also and there were 2 Trojans and I deleted them. I will continue to run these programs to keep my system clean. I also have to go into my sons user name and delete these programs from his files. I noticed that it didn't do it on all users when I deleted on mine. I have 6 users on my computer. Thanks again for you support, you are wonderful and you know your stuff,

Be sure to re-hide hidden files/folders if you were asked to unhide them

This will create a fresh restore point.
