Win32.sohanad.bm infection?

Hi gang!

Just ran A-Squared software inspection of my system and found what appears to be a sohanad infection. I quarantined it for the time being, but would like your expert opinion before I attempt anything I might regret , still (after all this time) regrettably being the computer novice I fear I will always be. If memory serves, I've heard it said the A-Squared often produces false positives when it comes to viruses and such; on the other hand, if I remember correctly I found that infection in the past, most probably with A-Squared, and either deleted it or quarantined it at the time. Not surprisingly, this time A-Squared has found the infection to be in a RESTORE file. I am posting the latest HijackThis log below, in the hope that the infection might become apparent to you. Should it be the case and it be recommended that I get rid of it, could you please forward instructions as to the simplest way of doing this? Many thanks as always.

P.S.: No other software (AVG, Spybot, AdAware has detected this so far, and my computer doesn't seem to be suffering any particular malfunctioning from it -- so far)

An infection name is not often very useful since other vendors will often give it other arbitrary names. The best way to verify an infection or further research a suspected item is use the filename associated with the infection for submission to available online analytical sources such as http://www.virustotal.com/

A restore file will not be a problem unless the system needs to go to a 'last known good' fairly current restore point (that happens to be infected) or you ever need to select one that unfortunately has that particular infection. If that is all that has appeared, it may sufficient to let time takes it course. Otherwise, it is possible to clean out ALL such restore points - likely advisable only if significant numbers of infected items remained in the restore points. Otherwise, it may often be better to retain an infected restore point than to have none at all to revert back to (if ever needed).


Alternatively, a limited number of vendor tools MAY be able to remove some of the infected entries found in those restore points. May not be worth the bother, however:

Restore points work on the following basis - there is a limited amount of user adjustable space allocated for this feature. At some point, the newest restore point will cause the oldest one to have to come to be deleted. Eventually, all existing infected restore point(s) will become eradicated.
