Lop Virus/kriv/glas Attacking Laptop!

Hi,

my daughter has been having massive problems with her laptop.

Last week she started experiencing unwanted pop-ups, with episodes of her keyboard locking. The whole computer slowed right down, she cannot download anything, she cannot retrieve her files stored online and her memory is at maximum capacity even though she has deleted itunes etc.


I've no idea how she can fix this if she cannot download anything?


She has AVG (which has put the lop virus into the vault) and Norton - any advice would be very welcome.

Often, LOP is incompletely addressed by many tools - particularly any newer forms of the infection. Sounds like you may be using two (2) antivirus tools at the same time. That is often found to be responsible for slowdowns and incompatibilities. In that case, highly advisable to uninstall one of them.


Can you get tools and logs to and from your daughter's computer (USB memory stick/pen drive)? Otherwise, this may not go well. A HijackThis LOG would be the best starting point.
