I work freelance for a company called Newsletter Genie:
I write online newsletter copy for him and he then sends me the finished design to proof read.
For the last month the owner of Newsletter Genie, has been getting unsubscribe messages every time he has sent me one of the finished e-mails.
Originally they were being sent to my hotmail address so I contacted their support and was told there was no way I could be unsubscribed unless I did it myself but I HAVE NOT been unsubscribing. They also confirmed there was no duplicate of my e-mail address.
The owner then set me up a remote login direct to Newsletter Genie - in the hope it would solve the problem. but it hasn't. We also routed it through another e-mail address I have, rather than hotmail, which comes in via outlook express
It occurred to me that it might be caused by my nightly AVG spyware/cookie/trojan scan which isolates tracking cookies though they have to be deleted manually once the scan's finished, so I disabled the cookie search element of that on Sat 23 August.
Despite that he has informed me this morning that it's still happening:
I have a free download spam detector on outlook express called SPAMfighter but all it does is to filter any inbound addresses it doesn't recognise into a separate folder and again I have to manually delete.
My client tells me that he is not aware of any tracking cookies installed in Newsletter Genie, so I can't ID anything to be ignored in the AVG scan process.
Do you have any suggestions for solving this problem and preventing it from happening please - it is seriously compromising the work I do for him.
Many thanks
Alison
