Hi all, thanks in advance for the help.

Started getting a lot of pop ups for antivirus 2009 and the computer has been running very slowly. I appreciate any help.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

• Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select "Full Scan", then click Scan.
• The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
• When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
• A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
• Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Still running slowly, and internet explorer just hangs when trying to open, have to use firefox

Please disable the ‘active protection’ components of the following application(s), as it/they may hinder the removal of some entries. Otherwise, certain cleaning attempts may be wrongly recognized and blocked as hijacking attempts or other potentially inappropriate behavior. You can re-enable such tools after your computer is clean.

Disable Spybot Search & Destroy (Teatimer)

1) Run Spybot-S&D
2) Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
3) On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
4) Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
5) Restart your computer.





You appear to be running 2 always on antivirus tools - they will often create conflicts and incompatibility issues. Please uninstall one of them for now (Macafee or Avast).

HIDDEN FILES: To make sure you can see all hidden files, please follow the directions here

SAFEMODE: Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' menu option (explained here if needed).



Delete TEMPORARY FILES: Now, use CCleaner to hunt down the most common temporary file locations and the temporary file clutter contained therein (and of possible malware hiding places):

Run CCleaner.

FIRST-TIME USE:
Select the ”Options” BUTTON option (top LEFT), ”Advanced” BUTTON, and then UNCHECK the ”Only delete files in Windows Temp Folders older than 48 hours”. Set back to default afterwards.

Select the ”Cleaner” BUTTON option (top LEFT), if not already selected. Use the ”Windows” TAB up front by default.

• Uncheck ”Cookies” option (advisable)
• Optionally, Uncheck ”Recently Typed URLs” option (potentially still useful)
• Click the ”Analyse” button.
• Thereafter, click ”Run Cleaner” after you have reviewed what it proposes to clean.

Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.0 Update 7 or higher, and install it to your computer.


Older JAVA versions have vulnerabilities that malware can and are using to infect systems.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.

• Close any programs you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
• Click Start > Control Panel.
• Click Add/Remove Programs.
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

New Version should show as (HijackThis log):

Ok having a little trouble tonight, wife was on the computer surfing and working, screen went blank ie closed down. I noticed the red shield for hte auto updates in the left corner, I always keep auto updates on. Was running slow, pop up tried to come up never loaded though. Couldnt search on google at all.

Ran malware bites fixed the problems, ran spy bot fixed a few more problems, ran cc cleaner and here is a hjt log. Do I look good to go? been 20 min no problems yet, and the red sheild is now gone as well.
