Pc is really slow

Hello everybody,

My computer is working really slowly. I hope you can help me. I have made a scan with avast and spybot, and there is no file that could not be deleted.

I also use an EeePC. And we found that we needed to load many of our programs on the D:\ DRIVE (4GB SDHC chip - 8GB is possible?). Our C:\ DRIVE is only 2GB. So, many of our user optional running programs were uninstalled as loaded and re-installed in D:\Program Files\ (particularly antivirus, FF, and Office applications).

For now, I would ask that you uninstall the following older and duplicated JAVA version to see if that improve matters:

Java(TM) 6 Update 3 (100MB would be freed)



You also need to keep your cache and Temporary Files cleaned out (at least weekly?) and possibly set to lower maximum levels, especially IE if you don't use it much:


FF: Tools>Options>Advanced>Offline Storage>50MB>
IE: Tools>Internet Options>Browsing History>Settings>200MB?>


Load the following program on the D: DRIVE (suggest initially making a D:\Program Files\ folder):

Clean out TEMPORARY FILES procedures:
To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner CCleaner - Download

Install Options:

• Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!
• Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.

It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Do not run CCleaner until requested later.




Run CCleaner preferably in SAFE MODE (reboot tapping the F8 key after the beep).

Select the ‘Options’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), ‘Advanced’ BUTTON, and then UNCHECK the ‘Only delete files in Windows Temp Folders older than 48 hours’ (often, the latest download traffic could be the bearer of bad content – RESET back to default after this particular cleaning).

Select the ‘Cleaner’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), if not already selected. Use the ’Windows’ TAB up front by default.

• Uncheck ‘Cookies’ option (advisable)
• Optionally, Uncheck ‘Recently Typed URLs’ option (potentially still useful)
• Click the ‘Analyse’ button.
• Thereafter, click ‘Run Cleaner’ after you have reviewed what it proposes to clean.
