msconfig causing reboot - HELP!
Hey!
I'm new to this so I'm sorry if i'm doing anything wrong, please forgive me.
I really need some help.
I'll start from the top.
Recently (I dont know when it started) I've been getting a prompt, the title says Security Centre Alert. It says "To help protect your computer, Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program." "Do you want to block this suspicious software?" Then it says "Name: Won32.Zafi.D" "Risk Level: High" then it gives a description. And down the bottom of the little window it has a button saying "Enable Protection".
Me being stupid like I am clicked the button, installed Perfect Defender 2009 then realized that it was evil. So I did a system restore back to the 23rd of Feb but I'm still getting this Security prompt thing asking me to enable protection. Whenever it comes up i just close it.
There are two other things as well;
1. AVG is saying that there are no active components, and it wont let me scan, I click the scan button and nothing happens, I didnt change anything so I dont know why there are no active components.
2. Whenever I try opening msconfig my system reboots, as far as opening regedit goes I'm pretty sure it doesnt reboot. But I'm not all that keen on trying.
Now I'm not great with computers but i dont have some knowledge no matter how limited it may be. But i'm honestly stumped. I need help.
I have a HijackThis logfile as well, I wont paste it here though just incase this isnt the right place to do it.
I don't know if any of the problems are linked but any help would be really really great.

Re: msconfig causing reboot - HELP!
Note: It may be necessary to download the following tool and/or update it from another PC, and possibly give it a new name (rename it), e.g.:
needed_scan.exe
* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE or HERE
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
- Run the scan in SAFEMODE (tapping the F8 key on bootup), if necessary.
- If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
- If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
- Once the program has loaded, you can initially select the often highly productive "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
….. AND/OR go straight to the longer but more comprehensive scan:
- It is also highly advisable to run the longer ”Full Scan” in addition to the above scan.
- The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected.
- When disinfection is completed , a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart(See Extra Note).
- A run log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs TAB in MBAM.
- Copy&Paste the entire report(s) in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
- Please post any current revised observations.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.
