Nope, the program never told me, and it said it passed with zero errors or whatever. Anything else I can check?

re: [Resolved] Vista start-up problems

I can see, you have 3GB of RAM.
Try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.
I'm really not sure, where your problem is, so all we can do is to try to eliminate possibilities.

Alright, well I'm up for trying anything. How do I start with only one RAM stick? Physically remove one, or can I like disable some?

He means to physically remove all but one of them. You are checking them individually.

Ah, ok. Let me google how to remove RAM etc, and I'll post anything back on here.

re: [Resolved] Vista start-up problems

Yeah, you have to turn off computer, open the case, and remove all sticks, but one, physically.
At the same time, see, if the computer is clean inside.

re: [Resolved] Vista start-up problems

Yeah, it's pretty clean. A tiny bit of dust, but I've only owned the computer for nine months. These isn't anything huge, like a rat droppings or anything.

On a side note, on the first stick of RAM, it loaded pretty fast (slower than with them all, of course) and I ran iTunes and checked my facebook real fast as a test to see the speed etc. On the second one, however, it was slower. When the first one loaded iTunes right away, it took the second one a good five seconds or so to fully load it. Not sure if that's important (hugely important atleast) or if it's just the way things work.

Let me check the last one and I'll tell how that one went.

I assume, it's still under warranty, correct?

How many RAM sticks do you have there?
Were you able to boot to Normal Mode?

re: [Resolved] Vista start-up problems

Yes, I do believe it's still under warranty, but I wasn't sure what that would cover, and wanted to try and fix it myself before I use that. Alright, I have three in total, and the first two ran everything fine. The third one decided to mess up, and I got all the same problems I was having earlier, but I'm not sure if it's the RAM. I did the same thing I had tried with the first two, loading iTunes and Safari (web browser) and then, it kinda froze for a second. I clicked on the taskbar to see if that was working, and it said Explorer has stopped responding, and gave me the options to end task, wait, or restart. I restarted, and it worked again, though still sluggish.

Yes, I was able to boot in normal mode. Sorry, I haven't made that very clear, have I? I tried restoring it to the most recent update, and it didn't work. Then, I rebooted to a later date, and it let me boot in normal mode, though still slow and with some problems. It's slowly been fixing itself though... maybe I've gotten used to it or it was just circumstances (don't think that's it though).

Should I check my warranty, or just stop using that stick of RAM?

re: [Resolved] Vista start-up problems

We can play a little before you turn it in for warranty repair.
If you sure, it runs better without that 3rd stick, leave it out for now.

I want you to do one more thing for me...

Download HijackThis:
TrendSecure | Download TrendMicro HijackThis
by clicking on Download HijackThis Installer
Install, and run it.
Post HijackTHis log.
Do NOT attempt to fix anything!

NOTE. If you're using Vista, right click on HijackThis, and click Run as Administrator
