Ok. Thanks. So now do I still need the recovery console installed? If not how do I remove it? Do I just need to delete the folder that it is in and edit it out of boot.ini or is it more complicated than that?

No. Recovery Console is very useful feature, and should be installed on every computer.

Kind of slow but thats because of the [lack of] ram. But its faster than it was.

You're preaching to the choir. Thats not my call. They can't even spurge and buy 2 ethernet cable and a hub to connect another computer to the network. They can't even cover gas money for me. They will just have to live with it.

Yep. I gave them my 2 cents.

I did the updates. The only critical one was office 07 sp 2.
