Virus help

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help my main pc has a virus. at one point it would not boot up but after disconecting my internet modem the pc boots, I have run a virus program and deleted about 5 trojans also run adaware and removed 2 more rougue bits from the registry. the pc works fine but as soon as I connect my internet usb cable after a few seconds the pc shuts off. note it does not shut down just turns off like pulling the plug out. starts to reboot, gets to the login page and then shuts off again. pull out the usb and pc fires up ok. so I can't get to se if there are any new virus up dates.
any help would be good

Get the stinger, burn to disk on uninfected computer and bring to your computer and run it and see if that helps.

Download and install and run the scan and if anything is found please post the results.

back on the laptop again, tried stinger still no luck. I am back at work on shift so time is short
I have also got mcafee rootkit detective, have run it and it has come up with 38 hidden registry keys, but as for what they are and if they are deletable I don't know as yet.
I will let you know how things are going as if I can sort this out it might help others.
