re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

At this point, I'll ask my friend to take a look at this thread. Maybe, he'll see something, I'm not seeing.
Hold on there. I'm not sure, how quickly I can get hold of him.

re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

Download this program

Drag RootRepeal.exe file onto Inherit.exe.

Then wait for it to say "OK". The programs should run fine after doing that.

Note: Dragging shortcuts to Inherit.exe will not work. To see what files shortcuts point to you will need to right-click the shortcut and select "Properties."
The .exe file that you will have to drag onto Inherit.exe is listed next to "Target"

See, if RootRepeal will run after that.

re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

Ran RootRepeal over Inherit, and on the second try a report was produced. However, that's when the program (& Windows) froze and didn't save a logfile. Tried another two times with no luck.

re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

I just got reply from my friend and this is what he wants you to do.

* Download Win32kDiag from any of the following locations and save it to your Desktop.

- http://download.bleepingcomputer.com...Win32kDiag.exe
- http://rootrepeal.psikotick.com/Win32kDiag.exe

* Double-click Win32kDiag.exe to run it and and let it finish.
* When it states Finished! Press any key to exit..., press any key to close the program.
* It will save a Win32kDiag.txt file to your desktop automatically. Attach this log file to your next message.

re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

I want you also run this...

ESET Online Scanner
- Works with Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT 4.0/2000/XP and Windows Vista
- System Requirements
- Info on scanner
(Note: This Scanner is for Internet Explorer Only)

1. You will notice that the "Start" button is grayed out.
Place a check mark at "Yes, I accept the Terms of use".
The "Start" button will become visible.
Click on it.
2. If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
3. You will be asked to install an ActiveX, click the "Install" button
4. Once ActiveX control is installed click on the "Start" button to initialize the scanner
5. Once the scan is done, you will find a log in C:\Program Files\esetonlinescanner\log.txt

re: [Inactive] Search Engine Redirect

Win32kDiag log doesn't look right.
Try to right click on Win32kDiag.exe and click Run as Administrator.

I ran Win32KDiag as the Administrator the first time. I did it again. Logfile (which looks the same) follows.
