1-Is it necessary to buy a digital camera to learn and study photoshop?
No, not really, you can edit pictures that are stored on your computer/the internet
Quote:
2-What is the best and not expensive software of photoshop that is avaliable right now?
Photoshop CS3 is the newest (therefore more features), selling for about £150 on ebay
I use photoshop CS2 which sells on ebay for around £110 on ebay
Quote:
3-What is a digital camera that you would recommend?
The best thing to do is probably find a camera within your price range and then search google for reviews e.g. "Canon Ixus 65 review"
Quote:
4-What is being gained by photoshop?
The ability to edit/create pictures. It is a powerfull piece of sortware and takes time to get used to, there are hundreds of tutorials on the internet which can be found by searching google/yahoo
Quote:
5-Which requirements does the computer need to have with the software you recommend?
Photoshop CS2
  • Intel Xeon, Xeon Dual, Intel Centrino, or Pentium III or 4 processor
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2
  • 320MB of RAM (384MB recommended)
  • 650MB of available hard-disk space
  • 1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
  • CD-ROM drive
  • Internet or phone connection required for product activation
I am running this with an intel celeron 2.2Ghz CPU, 768mb RAM, 8mb onboard gfx and 1024x768 (32 bit) screen resolution

Photoshop CS3
  • Intel® Pentium® 4, Intel Centrino®, Intel Xeon®, or Intel Core™ Duo (or compatible) processor
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (certified for 32-bit editions)
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 64MB of video RAM
  • 1GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
  • 1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • QuickTime 7 software required for multimedia features
  • Internet or phone connection required for product activation
  • Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services
Edit: your poll should be more specific, you say "What is your favorite brand of electronics?"

Different brands have different strong/weak points for example sony specialise more in phones than Linksys, but lynksis are more popular with network equipment so it depends what you are looking for

For cameras i would say sony, canon or fujifilm
Printers i would say canon or possibly HP

Re: Photoshop

Thank you. But how do you edit the poll. I have no idea of how to.
Isn't their a software called "Photoshop CS3 Extended" from Adobe?
Is it the same as the one you describe above the same as the one i said?
Did you actually voted two times?
Thanks.

Re: Photoshop

I think only moderators of this section can edit polls
From what i gather, CS3 extended has more features: http://www.adobe.com/products/photos...oshopextended/

under reasons to upgrade, the features with a * by the side are unique to cs3 extended

Yes, this type of poll allows you to make multiple votes, I chose sony and cannon because they make good printers and cameras.

What do you mean by, 'make it seem like a SLR pic? all those effects and such'?

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
