Slow computer & corrupt files

I have a Sony PCG GR114MK which has Windows Professional 2000 as an operating system. For a long time now it has taken over 5 minutes for all programs to load at start up and its getting worse. I have error messages coming as pop ups from the internet saying I have corrupt system files- .exe files, there is also a spyware program pop up that I want to get rid of. I'm thinking if I clear the hard disk & uninstall all programs & then reload it may do the trick - what do you think.

I have norton & diskeeper lite & pest patrol non of which flag up any problems. Be great to have some ideas - another expensive paperweight!!

Please follow owen's Instructions and then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs section. (Not in this section please).
