I have Windows 2000. System crashed, so I tried to boot from floppys.
When it gets to Windows set up, it tells me it can't find my hard drive, and my only option is to reboot, which puts me back in la la land. I tried recovery, same thing. My CD Rom, nor my hard drive is showing in BIOS.
Sounds like your drive is bad or something on the mobo. Best thing would be to take it to someone. If you have another working drive you could try that.
Is the CD-Rom and your hard drive using the same cable on your motherboard? If it gets pinched, there is a chance that the wiring inside the cable may be damaged and it will need replacing...
