Re: C:\ is not accessable Access is denied
Hi, I've got a problem similar to this. Ok well I installed norton antivirus and it crashes halfway through, then windows crashed.
I reboot and windows 2000 hangs on the boot up screen, so I reboot in safe mode, I then proceed to look for the nortan antivirus uninstall, which it isn't there nor is there anything in add / remove programs.
So I go and just delete the nortan folder, I reboot and it boots up fine till it gets to loading the desktop, and an error comes up which says Pagefile hasn't been set or is very low please fix this blah blah blah, So i go check it it is set at 20.
I then leave it and go do something else I click my computer then C:\
"C:\ is not accessable, access denied" I think hmm strange then try D:\ E:\ F:\ (all hdds) and none of them work, think hmm this is strange try cmd prompt, there I can't do anything more, so I go back and try to goto a subdir, so I type E:\Patches wow, I can get to that, and other directories.
But I cannot copy files over, by now I decided I'd format, since I couldn't copy any of the files and that most of my files are on the other drives which (I thought) would fix themselves once I formatted C:\ (Windows Partition).
So before this I try the revcovery Console, and I am blocked from accessing the dirs here even, so I go and install XP (I'd been looking to install xp since I got sick of 2k slow boot up ;p).
Now here I am, C:\ Fine (cause it has been formatted) D:\ E:\ F:\ still all porked, same error.
HELP, I really don't want to reinstall all my games on D:\, nor a few documents on E:..
HELP!
