Re: Opening programmes

Can you give any more detailed information about what programs your having problems with? What if any error messages you are getting? What changes you may or may not have made just prior to the error occuring? What type of compuer you have, or any other details you can think of?
Thanks
Nigel

Welcome to D-A-L.

Have you checked your settings in your browser "Zones", and your firewall?

Thanks for responding to my request.

I log on as normal with BT Internet and there seems to be no problems logging on, but just nothing happens. I click for google or my favorites list with no reponse, I can't think of any error message but will check when I get home tonight, I am sending this from work.
I did not change any settings, but have recently downloaded Lime Wire free vesion which has slowed my PC down considerbly when looging on, I have noe taken it off. On scanning pc for any viruses there was one but only a medium threatwhich I cleared. Have done about three checks since but no problems.

Hpoe you can clean sonthing from this

Once again many thanks

Mike

The pc is no particular make just upgraded at work occasionally

I think you've just put your finger on the root of your problem. Lime Wire is not desirable. I'd uninstall it and do a complete system cleanup. ie; Full AV scan, full Malware/Spyware scans, etc.

Once Lime Wire is uninstalled, I recommend you first post a HijackThis log for review by our security experts.

Follow the instructions here-> HiJackThis prerequisites. There are important measures outlined here which affect and "optimize" the outcome of your HJT log.

Then post your log in a new thread in the Spyware, Adware, Viruses and HijackThis Logs Forum.

(Not in this section please).
