Factory settings after switching on

Switched on networked computer this morning and the computer has reverted to factory settings. There is a blue screen with icons down the lefthand side. The computer has made a new folder in C:/Documents and Settings and I ned to know how to get it to look at what it was looking at before I switched off last night. I know everything is still in there. Am using someonelese computer at the moment because mine required IE to be set up again and I don't want to change anything on it. Any help would be mopst appreciated.
