Cant log on

Everytime i try to log on to my computer it starts to log on but then says its logging off. I tried it in safe mode and it did the same thing. When i called dell they told me it was probably a virus but they would charge me a ton of money to fix it. All the things ive found online about fixing it tell me to download something but i cant log on to do it.

Re: Cant log on

Did you try all the Safe Mode options?

Last known good configuration etc.

What is the exact Dell model?

Do you have the Dell install CD's?

Re: Cant log on

There are about 6 different options for "Safe Mode". Did you try them all?

Safe Mode?

If so and no go then you will need the Dell CD.

You can try the Recovery Console from the CD at first. Try FIXBOOT and or FIXMBR

How to install and use the Recovery Console in Windows XP

Windows 2000 should be similar.

If that fails you will need to reinstall from the CD.
