Microsoft Outlook icon being placed on Desktop

Every time I create a new icon on the Desktop, a Microsoft Outlook icon is also created. This is very annoying to say the least.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I have Windows 7 RC1 on a Dell Precision 370.
It's a 3.4Ghz Dual Core with 1GB of ram (so far).

Edit: Seems to have healed itself after a few reboots ... very weird.

What version? I think that outlook likes to put "special" icons on your desktop. Try outlook's settings &/or perhaps task scheduler. Virus maybe? Technically I can't say that it is [disclaimer].

Re: Microsoft Outlook icon being placed on Desktop

Definitely not a virus, as this is a clean install of Win 7 on a new HD. I've never even launched Outlook, but if it happens again I'll take a look at it's settings. Thanks
