reformat gone wrong

tried to reformat my laptop, everything was going great, i'd wiped the hard drive, just needed to make a folder and copy installation files, when something went wrong, i probably did something, anyway, it turned off, turned it on again, and now all i get is a black screen, its definitely on, and i need help soon!!!!!!
