Hi! Thanks for the replies!
I got some information from my computer after installing AIDA32. A program to audit my PC.
This is the information I received (part of it, anyway):
CPU TYPE: AMD Athlon XP 1666 Mhz
Motherboard Name: FICAM35
Motherboard Chipset: VIA VT8375 ProsavageDDR KM266
BIOS Type: Award
From the above information, I understood that my graphics card was actually built-in with the motherboard. Correct me if I'm wrong, since I'm just guessing.
My graphics card has been identified as: S3 Prosavage DDR (86c420) (It does not actually say it's a graphics card, but that info was under the "video" section of the results from Aida32.
More info on my PC:
OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 98 SE
SYSTEM MODEL: HP Pavillion 06D7218M
PROCESSOR: 1.67 Gigahertz AMD Athlon XP
128 Memory Cache
CIRCUIT BOARD: KM266-8235
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies
The problem I have is that I need drivers to work with my graphics card. But if the graphics card is embedded in the motherboard, do I need drivers for the motherboard or just the graphics card? And since the computer was designed to work with Windows XP, will the drivers (or the graphics card) even work under Windows 98? I honestly don't know. Please help.
I downloaded from the S3 website some drivers that are suppose to work with a S3 ProsavageDDR card, but I found out it was for Windows XP. I did managed to sort of install some drivers (by making my computer use them). On Display Properties>Settings>Display it now identifies the card as a prosavageddr. But I still have 2-16 colors. So I guess the (forced) installation did not work at all. So I decided to start from scratch and format my PC again and install Windows98. Now the Display simply says that I'm using a generic PCI Video Adapter (VGA). I cannot get it to identify my graphics card. Thus I need drivers. I still don't know if that is possible working with Win98, though. Any help would be hot.
I was able to make my computer have sound again using a program called AC97 Audio Driver. So that problem was solved. But I think that it worked because the sound card was also embedded with the motherboard.
The other new problem I have is with my CD-R drive. It's a Plextor CD-R PX-W8432T.
My PC won't identify it as a CD-R drive. It just thinks it's a regular cd rom drive. I went to Plextor website and downloaded a program that was suppose to install the drivers, but my PC still won't identify my CD-R nor can I burn anything on a cd.
But hey, for now I just want to know if I can make my XP designed PC to work with the win98 OS and have my display work with more than 16 freakin' colors.
Again, any help would be highly appreciated.

have you got the drivers that came with the motherboard?

Oh, nope. I got this computer from an ads advert on the newspaper. I bought it as is with no additional installation CD's or software. So basically I have to use the net to download everything I need. Including the drivers.
Iwas thinking that maybe it's not possible to make my PC work with Win98, because in my search around the web some people told me that OS is flawed. And that it's flawed because it does not install the drivers properly.
I'm afraid this little experiment to make my XP designed PC a Win98 compatible PC, will not work. But I want to try and make it work. If it does not work, then I'll go back to boring old Windows XP.
