CMOS Checksum Error/LBA translation mode

On booting I get the CMOS Checksum default setting used. Check LBA translation mode. I can then press F1 and the system boots OK. Have not installed any hardware recently and have replaced the battery. Can anyone help and point me in the right direction.

Re: CMOS Checksum Error/LBA translation mode

Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.

Have you set the hard disk parameters yourself (in the bios), or is it set to AUTO? (Cylinders/Sectors?etc)

If it's set to AUTO, had this disk (parameters, not data or O/S) by chance been set up in another machine, then installed on the current machine?
