What is the exact model number of the Dell machine?

Did you get Dell Recover_or_Restore, and possibly hardware drivers CD's with the machine?

OR, do you have a retail CD of XP? (Full or Upgrade.)

Did you;
  1. load/install any new software
  2. get any updates to anti-virus or spyware/malware programs you may be running
just prior to this problem?
