Safe Mode

I have the trogan virus PSW.Bispy and can't eliminate it until I start up in Safe Mode. However when I start Safe Mode using F8 or the System Configuration Utility, I get only as far as choosing the safe mode option and immediately I get an error message and then the message, It is now safe to turn your computer off. It all happens so fast I don't have time to read the error message. Can anyone help? Thank you
