How To Get Re Store Disk

I bought a Dell Dimension 4300, at a yard sale,it has Windows Me. It has not been on line since 2004. I put Avast Home on it scanned it had 400 Ad-Ware, Spy-Ware and Virses. I have it clean but it will not come up an restart. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get restore disk from Dell., but they will not sell me any without the name on the sales slip....I have who it was registered to. service tag, express service code. but still they will not sell me one. Is it possible to restore some other way, can I see if some one on the internet has a set an get them to burn them for me..... or do I half to trash the machine? SouthGaPeach

Looking for the same thing but for a Dimension 4300 with XP instead.

I had an easy time finding th restore cd for a used HP but Dell seems to be very difficult.

EDIT: Have you tried this? Transferring the ownership?

I haven't yet but might have to. If I do I'll post.
