How to remove SOGO Search from pogo games
I have a ME computer that my husband uses to play games on pogo and to read news on Yahoo - that is all he uses it for. Last week, a SOGO Search ad came up in the screen in place of a game loading on Pogo. I could not get rid of it. I totally restored his computer (because the sound wasn't working either so I though I would fix both things) But - the second game he went too - there was that SOGO ad again. And the sound still doesn't work. I know ME was one of the worse Window editions, but could anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks!!!!!

Welcome to techhelpforum.
Apparently this is a DNS problem. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&r...&q=sogo+search

SOGO may have "hacked" the Google DNS. It's unclear (as far as I've read) thus far.
Are things back to "normal" on the ME machine/PoGo site?

Yes, I had read the same thing about the hacking. This first showed up a week ago, then it went away, and then came back on again, on two other days. It is still there today. If google has fixed this, will it go away? From what my husband gathered the last time he tried to get on pogo today, that this is "sponsored by pogo" which is take is untrue. Is there anything that can remove it from the computer? Thanks!!!

Unfortunately no. You could clear History points and Cookies for it, but if there is a URL re-direct, it is on the net, and therefore "outside" of your machine.

All the same. I saw that during investigations.

Dan,
Thanks for your help. That ad comes and goes. Couldn't play games this morning but can this evening, at least until it shows up again.

One more thing,,,,,
Ensure your A-V and Firewall are up to date. Also a couple of good tools to run are;
Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
MBAM - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
These too of course should have the latest updates applied.
