Help vista upgrade

I brought a laptop vista capable and was given a voucher for free upgrade for Vista but a message keeps poping half way through loading saying "can not proceed with upgrade as the update cannot update the boot up configuration" can anyone help

have the same problem//so if youll learn-tell me please....

You need to return it to the retailer or the internet store
