I recently installed Vista Business on my Fujitsu Siemens Laptop. The PC isn't to the highest of specs, its got a Celeron M 1.6Ghz processor and 1Gb of RAM, however I only really intend to use it to watch DVD's and browse the Internet. However, when upgrading from XP Home to Vista, the built in wireless card doesn't seem to function. I have checked the device manager and it says that the Atheros AR5005G wireless card is working fine, however I cannot turn it on. Normally I press the wireless "on" button at the top of the laptop and it turns the card on, however on pressing this button now nothing happens and I am unable to activate a wireless connection. Is there anyway I can turn the card on inside Vista without having to do it manually which doesnt seem to work?
Try looking on the Fujitsu website for drivers for that laptop. Windows Vista might not have the correct drivers, which may be why it's not turning on. Also, Vista has a Mobility center (I think it's in the control panel), I believe that has a spot to turn on wireless, so you might want to look there as well.
