Question Favicons mixed up in bookmarks

Imagine my surprise when I turned my pc on today to find that the favicons assigned to my bookmarks had either completely disappeared to be replaced by the generic IE icons, or, somewhat more bizarrely, had decided to 'move house' - for instance, anybody who could not read would think from the icon assigned to this site that they were going shopping on Amazon....

How do I put this situation right? I have a looong list of favourites and I need those little guys on impatient days..

I'm running IE7

Re: Favicons mixed up in bookmarks

This and many other quick fixes do not work for me. I have a new Dell xps 1530 running Vista Home premium 64 bit and IE8 - no matter what I do which including deleting the iconcache.db, reseting from the advanced tab etc- my icons continue to be screwed up. Any help please?
