Hot keys?!

Having huge problems suddenly whilst trying to type anything. System keeps trying to launch new programs (such as Windows Media Player) whenever and whatever key is pressed. Someone suggested that I've inadvertently set up a 'hot key' function but it's not specific to one particular key being pressed. It's driving me mad! Any help appreciated!

Thanks, Jephree. Tried your suggestion but date markers didn't go back far enough so it hasn't helped

Hi there. It's an Acer laptop Aspire 7730. Have just done a total reboot and all seemed to be fine until I started to reload the broadband / router, now back to the same problem

By "total reboot" do you mean you reinstalled Vista?

By "reload the broadband/router" do you mean the drivers?

If so and you start in Safe Mode do you still have the issue?

What is the make and model of the "broadband/router"?
