Screen resolution problem

I have 5 of my family members who each use windows XP (with our own separate user accounts)...My problem is..whenever someone changes the screen resolution (within their own user account), it changes everyone elses screen resolution to their setting. Is there any way Windows XP can be configured so that each user account has its own screen resolution setting?

Re: Screen resolution problem

No, you can not set different resolution settings for all the users because these pertains to the system-wide setting and is not related to individual user profiles. This is how the particular OS has been designed. However, you can disable your files and folders sharing option by right clicking on the files or folders for the certain directories, like documents and settings

Re: Screen resolution problem

I suppose you know how to quickly reset the res?

If not:

Right clk on the screens desktop (not on any icon mind), select <properties> <settings> <resolution>

You may find powerstrip a bonus:

Re: Screen resolution problem

google

bottom line:

No, screen resolution is per machine, not per user.

tho the administrator account could/can block other users from changing the administrators' choice

sorry.......i was thinking of xp pro..........in xp home i do not know if there is an administrator or over-riding account

this program was free with my monitor but costs otherwise is also an alternative tho....it changes resolutions click by click........user by user......moment by moment
