Serious Problem (XP can't start up)

Hi, Im in serious **** here. I downloaded a programme called zilla optimizer. It is suppodesly designed to help clean up the registery, useless or duplicates dll's etc. However after I ran this programm, my computer would'nt let me start any programmes (misconfigured). I tried a restart and XP home edition said windows cant start up a file was missing (\system32\hal.dll). Im trying to get these dll's online but is there any way I can undo these changes in BIOS or something? I put in the recovery disk which ask me to slect ok to continue or cancel. but i have no means of selection, mouse dosnt work and the arrow keys dont seem to highlight anything neither. Please im really screwed here, is there any way I can get my computer back without reformatting?

If it dont fit...force it. If ya cant force it...get a bigger hammer. If it breaks...it probably needed replacing anyway.
