Haunting Blue screens.Please help
Hi,
I have just now joined this group.
I own a AMD64 with ASUS K87 MOBO and PC3200 DDR RAM.
I am frequently getting a lot of Blue screen error messages at random times in My PC and i cannot attribute the crash to any particular software.
Have got a blue screen error messages many times (not able to remember exact message) but it was solved when i identified the culprit to be Zone Alarm firewall. After uninstalling i thought that i have solved that Blue screen riddle.......
But after that i have faced several such instances but with different types of blue screen (I.e Error messages)
One being IRQ_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL.This frequently happens when i close the Prince of persia warrior within game and also when i use the PC extensively for more hours.
Yesterday i tried writing a cd using Nero...after it came around 87% my system gave me a different blue screen but this time error message was KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Now i am not able to get into my computer it restarts after showing this error message.
Do you think it may be some sort of memory problem?
I desperately need someone to help me as i am struggling with my new PC.
Please somebody help me.
Thank you very much

Can you get into Safe Mode?
Tap tap tap the F8 key after the BIOS POST.
Choose to start in safe mode & go to your event viewer by rt' clicking my computer then click manage then event viewer.
Open the system as well as the application tabs & check out the errors.
Let us know what you find there. Especially the Source & Event ID.

Re: Haunting Blue screens.Please help
Hey, many thanks for your reply.
After that "Kernel_data_inPage_error" i cannot go into windows (not even in safe mode). its either shows the same error or it just gets stuck in windows XP screen.
Anyway i have asked for a RAM replacement since this kind of errors often occur due to Faulty RAM.
Hope i get a new RAM within couple of days.
Hope fully after getting the new RAM.will format the disk and get a fresh install of XP and will let you know abt it.
Once again many thanks for you immediate reply.
Please continue your good work.
Have a nice day.

Re: Haunting Blue screens.Please help
Hello,
As i told you earlier i replaced the RAM and formatted the C: Drive and installed a fresh copy of Windows XP.1st thing i tried is to install Nero and tried writing the same .DAT file.Oh my god the same blue screen occured again with the error message
KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Then my service engineer tried all kinds of possibilities and came to a conclusion that the problem is exactly with my Samsung 160 GB SCSI Hard drive.
That to Only in E: drive(30 GB).
Yeah he was right. When i tried to copy some files from E: Drive to some other drive the same error occurs.i even done a low level format on E: drive even after that whenever i try to copy some data in it it shows the same error message.
Can you suggest me some method to remove the bad sectors?
yeah i know samsung has a utility but they give no guarantee to datas in HDD.
i have nearly 120 GB of datas in my HDD and i don't want to lose it.
PLease help.
Sorry for this long mail.
thanks

Re: Haunting Blue screens.Please help
By right clicking the drive under disk management then clicking properties then tools there is an error checker.
Do you have reason not to trust the samsung utility?
Perhaps it has a simple scan (not fix) option you can run?
Also now that you are in windows:
look in your event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. click error line for details. post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with a crash.

Re: Haunting Blue screens.Please help
Hi, sorry to suddenly join this conversation but I have been having a similar problem with blue screens.
I went in to the event viewer and there are about 15 errors with a X next to them.
There are a few different ones but if I list them I hope someone may be able to help me. It has been very frustrating when the computer suddenly crashes.
Source Event
System Error 1003
DCOM 10005
Service Control Manager 7000
Service Control Manager 7009
Service Control Manager 7011
