Question Flash Player

When I go to www.macromedia.com to download Flash Player 7 and click "Install now," the installation does not begin. Where the installlation movie is supposed to play (on the top), there is a blank box with a tiny icon in the upper left corner with a red x on it. What's wrong?

Re: Flash Player

Have you followed all the Installation Instructions ?

Or read this:

Common Macromedia Flash Player Install Issues

Let us know if this doesn't solve it.

Re: Flash Player

It's still not working, but what does this section mean:

User permissions determine whether or not you are allowed to install ActiveX controls or plug-ins. If you don't have Administrator access to your Windows NT, 2000, or XP equipped computer, you may not be able to install the Flash Player successfully. Permissions can be tricky but, in general, you should be able to install and use the Macromedia Flash Player if your system Administrator has provided full access to the Macromed directory (C:\Winnt\System32\Macromed\).

Re: Flash Player

Is your account an Administrator account?

If not check with your Administrator.

Re: Flash Player

Yes, it is an Administrator account, by the way, one of the other Administrator accounts on the computer displays flash, does that mean that flash is already installed in the computer and that there is just something wrong with my account?

Re: Flash Player

It could be that that particular account is corrupted in some way or the settings are not right, especially for ActiveX Content.

I would guess the account that works has the Flash installed into that particular account rather than All Users.

Can you go to that account & see the exact location?
(C:\Winnt\System32\Macromed\). for example.

Maybe you can install on another account & be sure it installs to All Users.
