a friend has just bought himself a windows media player he has a speed touch broadband modem but is having problems getting on line he has spoken to bt as they are the isp they gave him an updated driver but this was no good has anybody got any ideas

Windows Media Player is a free download Spud, so I don't understand this part of your question. As for the Alcatel Speed Touch modem please click HERE for the support site. The Alcatel Speedtouch modem is ok ( I support it in my real life job )
But it is USB and can be troublesome. Just my 2 ¢
