.NET Framework issues

I'm trying to install MS .NET Framework v1.1 on my computer. When I try to install it, it gets stuck towards the end where it says "Registering System.EnterpriseServices.dll" in the install box. Further, in my Add/Remove Programs area I see v1.0 and the v1.0 Hotfix. However, when I click on "change/remove" I don't get very far because it either says "Another installation is in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." This leads me to believe that the Hotfix isn't installed. Now, when I try to install MS Office or just about any other Windows download, I get the same message "Another installation is in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." Any thoughts on how to get around this? Thanks.

Re: .NET Framework issues

Read & use this Installer Clean-up checking the microsoft programs that are failing to install:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301

Also you should not remove .NET 1.0. You should have both 1.0 & 1.1 installed. 1.1 does not replace 1.0. Some applications require 1.0 while newer apps need 1.1.

I tried to install that. Here is the error I get:

"Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."

This is the message I get when I try to install anything Windows based, ie, Outlook.

Re: .NET Framework issues

Open the Registry Editor via: Start/Run/ regedit

Click on the + signs to expand & follow this path:

HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Installer

Do you see a key there: \InProgress

Also:

Open the Task Manager via: Start/Run/ taskmgr

Look under the Processes tab for Msiexec.exe

If that process is found turn it off.

If that key is found delete it.

Reboot & try to install the cleanup utility again.

Before altering the Registry: Back It Up! Click File then Export & Save to your My Documents

Re: .NET Framework issues

I still can't completely install the .NET Framework files. It still gets stuck at the "Registering System.EnterpriseServices.dll" spot. I was able to install the clean up program though. Could it be a Microsoft issue with the install of the .NET files? Maybe it's something else on my computer. Thanks.

Re: .NET Framework issues

Did you remove any .NET entries using the clean-up program?
