pc locked up after sp 2

my sister in law wanted me to fix her pc (slow). so i added 256 mg's ram and upgraded from windows 98 to XP pro(she bought). things were great until I installed sp2, now the pc went to the screen that has Co-Processor.........CPU Clock......................Primary Master HDDMaster S.M.A.R.T.....disabled... isthis right?. i AM LOST. please help..

Are you saying that you cannot boot into XP?

What happens after this BIOS info?

Does everything stop? Reboot? Have you tried to press F1?

thanks for the reply,but ijust reinstalled xp and now its working great
