my phones desktop icon, howd i remove it?

a few weeks ago i was messing about with my phone connecting it to my pc ( pc running xp sp2) and i got the icon on my desktop "my phones" ( see picture below) and now i want to get rid of it but cant!

iv tried going into control panel > display > desktop > customize > and was hoping to see it there so i could remove it but it wasnt!

any other ideas?

Hmmmm... Never saw that one before nor can I find any mention in my links.

Did you install some sort of phone & or wireless software?

Anyway: can you not right click the icon & delete? & or right click & drag to the Recycle Bin?

Also > control panel > display > desktop > customize > web > UNlock Desktop Items

Also C:/Documents & Settings/All Users/Desktop

cant drag and drop into bin, cant rightclick , ( well can but doesnt give me options to delete)

icons are already unlocked

and Also C:/Documents & Settings/All Users/Desktop is empty!

cant really remember how i got it to be honest, think it might have been after one of windows install wizards!

when i rightclick on it i get -

open
explore
create shortcut
rename

If you right click and there is not a Delete option then it may have been installed as a 'Namespace' item.

For those, run regedit.exe and open to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
Explorer\Desktop\Namespace

and look down the subkeys it contains, checking the right pane for each.
When you identify the unwanted item, delete it.
