Re: "Press Any Key To Continue" Problem with Win Xp Boot

im having the same problem too. I just got my com back from repair ( hard disk problem ) and i got a new windows installed ( win xp pro ).

There are LOTS of problems with this windows.. probably because it is poorly installed ( eg. windows update dont work, cant be validated on Microsoft update, shortcut to Internet explorer dont work etc etc.. ).

So i need to reinstall my windows, which is an older version, win xp home. I cant do it in windows since its older version and when i reboot and reach the press any key to continue, pressing all keys doesnt work either and it continues to boot to windows.

*drivers should be working find, i found out hard disk was spoilt because i was able to boot from CD when the hard disk broke down. I cant boot from CD after the win xp prof in installed.

Re: "Press Any Key To Continue" Problem with Win Xp Boot

If the problems were caused by a repair shop I would return to that shop for satisfaction.

The only way to install Home on that computer would be a Clean Install booting from the Home CD.

Is the BIOS set to boot from the CD drive?

My only other thought would be to manually format the hard drive. i.e. wipe it.

I agree 100 %, take it back to the shop and tell them to correct the problems.
