Valli Is a beginner here at D-A-L
Question C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftpupd.exe

I have installed Lexmark X74-X75 All-In-One. When I go to click on the shortcut that was given to me, it says that the shortcut cannot be found, and was either changed or moved. So it said it could search for the file, and said that the closest thing was something or other. I didn't get that. But then it said I could try and fix it or delete it, and I selected "fix it", but it couldn't fix anything. So now when I click on the shortcut, I get "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftpupd.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

So now I can't bring up the program, which means I can't fax, scan, or make copies. It will print, but that's it. But all in all, the program will not come up. And I get that error message and do not know what to do.

Re: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftpupd.exe

Is this a new install?

Did you install the software prior to the printer?

Did you use the XP Install Printer Wizard?

On another note: one symptom of the W32.Korgo.I worm is the deletion of ftpupd.exe files.

You might want to run a scan:
