cant reboot

is my computer gubbed it makes a clicking noise when it turned on and wont boot up message comes up disk boot failure its a hp pavillion 750 it says to insert system disk but i never had 1 to start with its never done it before when i switch it on the only thing i can access is f1 none of the other f keys respond

If it makes a repeated clicking noise and can't access the disk (the insert system disk error) then it sounds very much like the hard drive has encountered a serious hardware failure. This usually is recoverable by replacing the hard drive and re-installing the operating system using the installation media (CD).

Yes. A non-bootable floppy can give that message, but the floppy makes an obvious noise when it accesses, not a repeatable clicking noise that a dead hard drive makes.
