remembers previous disks

Please can someone advise on the following problem

When i put a music disk in my dvd rom and then take it out and put another one in the rom remebers the previous disk, i have tried this in my cd writer, dvd rom and also my dvd writer

The media player gets information about the disc from the internet and stores the info on your computer, so next time you put it in it has all the details track title, album title etc

what media player are you using

But when the disk has even got exel speadsheets or word documents it also remembers these on the disk as well

So i understand what you are saying but somehow something has gone wrong since i did a reinstall of XP

if you put a data disc in the PC will read it as data, if it's an audio disc then the media player will start up.

do the discs autoplay?

I am using roxio

I'd say that some of your files are corupt on your computer. advised to uninstall your Cd drives and reinstall them if you are running windows XP they will install automaticly when you restart the computer
