Every once and a while my pc restarts by itself. I am running a amd XP 2700+ but only running it as a 2100+ because I restarted constantly at 2700. It sounds to me like an overheating problem but my heatsink is a good aftermarket one the should definately be cold enough to work at 2100+. My computer is relatively virus and adware free so I am running out of ideas, I even have a huge fan blowing into my open computer that doesnt seem to help so much.

That wont help alot as the case is designed to direct airflow over the components for cooling.
is the computer full of dust?
have you got RAM problems?
is your PSU big enough?

have you another stick of RAM to try? as this problem occurs when RAM is playing up
if you go to Control Panel .. System.. Advanced.. Startup and Recovery ...Settings and untick the automatic restart that may give you a error code
