i dont know what could have caused this problem, but i have had similar error messages saying "your computer has recovered from a serious error...." try rt-clicking on an empty space on the desktop, click properties and go to the "settings" tab you will see a Colour quality section, click the arrow at the side and from the drop-down menu chose "Highest (32bit)" click apply. If that doesnt work, try re0installing the graphics driver from the disk (if you got one) if not, download it from here:

The intel website should come up and then a box asking if you want to download.
