Ble screen with no text and beeping sound.

Hello. I would like to know if maybe anyone could help me with this issue I am having. While playing Everquest I sometimes get a blue screen with no text and beeping sounds coming from speakers.. This is what I have: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo
1 Gig Corsair PC3200 Memory
80 Gig WD hard drive
ATI Radeon 9800Pro Vid card
Sound Blaster Audigy MP3 sound card
500 watt Power Supply.
I have 8 fans in my tower and recebtly cleaned all the dust off.
The cpu is a AMD XP 3200+, It has a copper heatsink with fan spininning at around 4500 RPM.
If any more info is needed please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Ble screen with no text and beeping sound.

Is this a new problem? Could you play Everquest before on this machine?

What happens after the blue screen? Does XP freeze? Do you need to reboot?

Also: look in your Event viewer: rt. click My Computer then click Manage then Event Viewer.
Or: Administrative Tools/Event Viewer or Start/Run/ eventvwr
Open the system as well as the application tabs & look for X errors. Click error line for details.
Post back the source & event id especially of errors that seem to coincide with this issue.

K thanks for the reply. I looked on the event viewer and saw nothing for todays date (12/13). When I get the blue screen with no text and the beeping sounds. Basically I have to hit the reboot button on tower to restart the PC. Yes this is a new problem. It started basically after I changed my video card. It has the newest drivers. As for the Everquest question, I just installed it like 2 weeks ago. I don't get the blue screen all the times. Kindda makes me wonder if my PC is getting way hot. If you need more info just let me know. Thanks.

Re: Ble screen with no text and beeping sound.

If this coincided with the new card that would be a prime suspect.

What card did you have previously? Did you uninstall the previous drivers & related programs before installing the new? You installed Catalyst 5.12 Windows XP ?

Heat could also be an issue. Do you have any problem imeadiatly rebooting after a freeze? Run with the case open to check the card fan & any noticable heat issue.

Before the 9800 Pro I had a ATI 9600XT (which I still have) Yes I uninstalled all the drivers before removing my video card and installing the 9800. Yes I have the latest Catalyst drivers. No when I get the blue screen with the sound coming from speakers I just hit the reboot button on tower and it boots up fine. I checked the card fan and it seems to be working. Another thing I am thinking of is I bought the video card used at EBay and if the card overheated at 1 time maybe that could be the issue. If any more info is neede please feel free to ask. Thanks again for the quick replies.

Re: Ble screen with no text and beeping sound.

Did you have any problems with the old card? If not & you try it again & it works OK you could pretty much pin-point the new card as faulty.
